New orders for the one-month and two-month periods ended May 31, 2002 include
orders from Crossmann Communities, Inc., which Beazer acquired effective April
17, 2002. On a pro forma basis, new orders for the one-month and two-month
periods ended May 31, 2001 including Crossmann's orders would have been 1,395
and 3,089, respectively.
New orders for the one-month periods ended May 31, 2002 and 2001 include no units for affordable housing developments being built through governmental programs. New orders for the two-month periods ended May 31, 2002 and 2001 include 0 and 154 units, respectively, being built through such programs.
