Beazer Homes Introduces Its First Solar-Powered eSMART Green Homes in Phoenix
Terraza at Villago Community Debuts in Casa Grande

PHOENIX, AZ, Jun 04, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --Beazer Homes (NYSE: BZH), one of the country's top-10 home builders, is introducing its first solar-powered eSMART Green homes with the opening this weekend of Terraza at Villago in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Located at 2846 North Blossom Lane, in Casa Grande, Beazer will host a public grand opening celebration on Saturday, June 5th, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., with model home tours, complimentary refreshments, and residential solar informational seminars.

"Our eSMART Green homes are designed to maximize savings while minimizing the overall environmental impact of building and maintaining a home," said Martin Hernandez, vice president of sales for Beazer Homes in Phoenix. "In developing this new series, our planning and design has taken a systems approach to ensure all of the multiple components work together for optimal performance. We've built in greater efficiency from the ground up which results in lower operating costs for our homeowners."

The eSMART Green model homes at Terraza at Villago feature innovative construction methods, spray foam insulation and an array of energy-saving products that combine to make the homes up to 46 percent more energy efficient than comparably sized houses built to standard code. These ENERGY STAR-certified homes also incorporate features that help conserve water usage and provide for healthier indoor air quality.

According to Hernandez, homebuyers at Terraza at Villago can save even more on their monthly utility bill by using solar to power their new home. Beazer's Phoenix Division has partnered with SolarCity to offer an optional SolarLease(TM) program that eliminates the upfront costs of installing an integrated solar power system.

"With an integrated solar system, homeowners can pay less for solar power than they would for electricity," said John Lefebvre, vice president of sales and business development for SolarCity, a leader in solar power system design, installation and monitoring services.

Among the additional energy-saving features incorporated into the eSMART Green model homes at Terraza at Villago are low-e windows, high-efficiency HVAC systems, home energy monitors, tankless water heaters, ENERGY STAR appliances, programmable thermostats and compact fluorescent light bulbs. To help conserve water, the homes feature manifold plumbing systems, dual-flush toilets, water-saving faucets and showerheads and regionally-appropriate plants. To address indoor air quality, high-grade air filters, fresh-air ventilated ducts, low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions paints, and Nylon recyclable carpets are included.

Priced from the low $100s, Terraza at Villago features 99 home sites and offers five distinct floor plans, including two-, three- and four-bedroom homes ranging in size from 1,345 to more than 2,300 square feet. Terraza at Villago is conveniently located in a beautiful master planned community in Case Grande that features a vast trail system, neighborhood parks, green spaces and acres of lakes.

Beazer's Terraza at Villago New Home Information Center and models are open daily, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday through Thursday, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. For more information, contact 520-836-0911 or visit www.Beazer.com.
