MH2 Signs National Agreement with Beazer Homes USA

March 15, 2001 at 9:02 AM EST

DALLAS & ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 2001-- MH2Technologies, the nation's leading provider of Internet-based, job-management tools for the construction industry, today announced that it has signed a national agreement with Beazer Homes USA, Inc. (NYSE:BZH)(www.beazer.com) to use the MH2Build job-management system.

Consistently a top-ten single-family homebuilder, Beazer has operations in 13 states in the Southeast, Mid Atlantic, Central and Southwest regions of the country making it one of the nation's largest geographically diverse homebuilders. Beazer sold over 8,500 homes in 2000.

Beazer's chief operating officer Mike Furlow says that the national agreement with MH2 is the result of a highly successful pilot program in three of Beazer's Las Vegas subdivisions. "MH2 did an excellent job in Las Vegas," said Furlow. "The wireless communications conditions out in the field were less than ideal, but the system performed no matter what the challenges. MH2 made sure our superintendents, especially those who had limited computer experience, could use the system quickly and effectively."

"Beazer gave us an incredible opportunity to prove that MH2Build can generate substantial time and money savings for a large operation with an established business protocol," said Michael Holigan, president of MH2. "We worked hard and are obviously thrilled with the results. Now it's time to focus on the rollout of MH2Build to the rest of Beazer's subdivisions, starting with Dallas and Houston."

During the pilot program MH2 worked with Beazer to integrate the MH2Build system into Beazer's JD Edwards accounting system to create a seamless front-to-back-office job management system. "By using MH2Build, we believe our superintendents will be able to better manage anywhere from 15 to 25 percent more homes under construction," said Furlow. Under its agreement with MH2, Beazer will also encourage its suppliers to use the MH2Build companion product, MH2Supply.

"I'm confident that with our national rollout with Beazer, all of their superintendents in all of their subdivisions will learn that what we've been saying about our systems is true: For builders who really want to save time, make more money and improve their work environments, MH2Build is the only way to go," said Holigan.

MH2Technologies has four individual technology platforms (scheduling, inspection, procurement and collaboration) that are integrated to build total solutions for the homebuilding industry:

  • MH2Build uses the scheduling, inspection and procurement modules so that homebuilders can reduce cycle time and overhead and benefit from having more exact job scheduling.

  • MH2Supply, the system used by dealers, suppliers and subcontractors to collaborate with homebuilders using MH2Build, uses the procurement, scheduling and exchange platforms. MH2Supply provides the platform that dealers and contractors need to reach customers in a real-time manner, have access to accurate forecasting, improve customer service, and reduce unnecessary inventory.

  • Banks and other financial institutions use MH2Finance, which combines the inspection and scheduling modules to fund draws faster and more accurately for homebuilders, contractors, dealers and suppliers.

  • A key advantage of MH2Technologies services is that customers do not have to abandon their existing accounting and ERP systems to benefit from MH2. Since MH2 is an application service provider, all of the MH2 systems integrate into existing back office systems used by homebuilders, contractors and dealers.
